REID MASATO HAMADA Reid Hamada, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2009. He was born in Honolulu. He was a meat cutter at the Pearl Harbor Commissary. He was one of the original members of the Honolulu Longboard Surfing Association and his favorite place to surf was Concessions at Ala Moana Beach Park. As an avid surfer, fisherman and cook, Reid touched the lives of many people. He will be deeply missed by his family and all his friends and their families. Reid was preceded in death by his father, Kazuto and his brother in law Glenn Matsuoka. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy; sisters, Sharlene Shimabuku, Doreen Hamada-Dixon and Colleen Matsuoka; nephew, Kyle Matsuoka; nieces, Malia Dixon, Andrea (Tawaski) Carter and Janelle Matsuoka, and many aunties, uncle, and cousins. SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7 AT HOSOI GARDEN MORTUARY. VISITATION BEGINS AT 3 PM, SERVICE AT 4 PM. CASUAL ATTIRE. SCATTERING OF ASHES WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8 AT ALA MOANA BEACH PARK, EWA OF THE TENNIS COURTS. SERVICE WILL BEGIN AT 8 AM. BRING LOOSE FLOWERS. Updated on 11/09/2009. ]]>
